On Thurday, July 26, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., members of the Rocky Mountain Seniors Ski Club are invited to come to the dedication of the bronze statue of Milllie Seitz.
This likeness has been placed in the Celebration Garden on the Sturgeon River. The Garden was one of Millie’s biggest volunteer projects: achieved with her typical drive and determination.
The sculpture of Millie by Marjorie Ann Davies will be surrounded by roses and lilacs in the Garden she loved.
Millie was one of the founding members of the Seniors Alpine Ski Club in the Edmonton Area.
The Celebration Garden is located at 34 Mission Avenue across the river from Rick’s Grill and beside the Chateau Mission Court.
The biking group has decided to hold a special ride on July 26. This group will meet at 10:00 a.m. behind Winner’s (our usual spot for St. Albert rides).
We will ride for half an hour or so and end up at the Celebration Garden for the 11:00 a.m. ceremony. Any non-cyclists, please meet us there.
Please note that since not all RMSSC members knew Millie, the regular ride scheduled for that day will proceed.
